So, when do you put up your Christmas tree?
I've varied it up throughout the years. Some years I'd put it up on Black Friday, and other years I'd wait until Christmas Eve and decorating it would be a full-on family activity.
So, when do you put up your tree?

· 5 yr. ago Ellen, are you smoking again?

The day after Thanksgiving has always been the day we put up ours. It's nice to spend the day bringing out the Christmas decorations. :)

Usually the weekend before Thanksgiving, because we are typically busy the weekend after.

Who said I ever took it down?

so funny answer ))) I also like to keep the Christmas tree all year round , but i manage to decorate it at the end of December (20-23) . It would be better to put it when the first snowflake drops, but in my land first snow may also come in November.

On thanksgiving day after dinner or the day after.

I like this. It keeps the family tradition going.

St Nicholas Day, which is also when we have a Yule log/Bûche de Noël. Looking to expand on that day with a French dinner (beef bourguignon) and maybe Yule clogs (clogs with a few things like chocolate and fruit in them).

First weekend in December, or if I really can't wait sometimes the last weekend in November.

Usually the last week of November. Takes me one night to put up the tree and lights, and then the next light to do the ornaments. I don't like to rush, because then it doesn't look as nice.

Typically the week of Thanksgiving. Life just always seems to get so busy for the rest of the year after Thanksgiving so we put it up so when those busy times do come, we can enjoy our tree

early November for my own room, and then typically the first weekend of December for the rest of the house.

I haven't had a Christmas tree in my adult life because I'm always traveling on Christmas and I don't want the thing to die while I'm gone.
But when I was a kid it would always be early to mid December. We'd go out on a Friday or Saturday night, pick one up at the tree lot, and decorate it. We'd have it up until after New Years and then take it down, so a total of about 3 weeks with the tree.

You could always get a fake one. Only downside is you don't get the smell. But that can be found elsewhere. You don't want to miss out on the Christmas spirit!

Real tree? 2 weeks' out. Fake tree? 12:01am November 1st. :p
Last year between work and everything just being hectic I didn't get around to it until a week before. I got put on Santa's bad list for making my then-about-to-be 4 yr old son cry. (I put up only the center rod and said 'ok, all done!" The look on his face, you'd think I killed Mickey Mouse or something... Of course I put up the rest of it but for those fleeting few minutes the world came crashing down around the poor kid)

I used to aim for the first day of December, but I always get a real tree and it's been quite difficult in my new house to keep them as fresh all through the month.
Now I wait a week or 2 longer but still decorate from the 1st.

November 12th(day after remembrance day here in canada) for my fake tree downstairs, along with all the other decorations. December 1st the real tree goes up in the main "gift opening" room.

My family always did the Saturday after thanksgiving, but my husband's birthday is in December and he prefers to eat until after that.

As soon as Remembrance Day is over otherwise my dad gets annoyed if he sees it. It comes down randomly sometime in January when I feel like it so I usually get about 2 months of Christmas decorations.
